HTC has introduced its latest smartphone: the Desire Eye. The Desire Eye has some pretty great specs: two of which are the 13-megapixel camera on the front and the 13-megapixel camera on the back. Such a high quality camera on the front of the phone was previously unheard of on any other smartphone.
The phone features dual-LED flash on both sides of the device and excellent quality regardless of which camera is used. During tests, critics were incredibly impressed and even surprised by how nice their selfies came out. HTC reports that the Desire Eye is aimed at teens who frequently take pictures of themselves, reporters who rely on high quality photos in the field, and those in medical facilities who would benefit from having a high quality camera on a phone for video chatting.
The phone itself comes with a large 5.2 inch 1080p display. The Desire Eye is made of high quality plastic and has a sturdy build. The front display has BoomSound speakers above and below the screen so watching videos will be a very pleasant experience. With three built-in microphones, users won’t have to worry about the quality of their voice recordings either.
Inside the device, the Desire Eye packs a Snapdragon 801 processor capable of 2.3GHz. It also has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, expandable memory via microSD, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2,400mAh battery. In other words, the phone will process things quickly and the battery will last most of the day with standard usage.
The HTC Desire Eye is expected as early as November 2014 and will most likely be sold through AT&T.
