Electronics Design Group, a professional custom systems design and engineering contractor that specializes in the integration and installation of state-of-the-art electronics technology for home and business, had an award winning weekend at the annual Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo in Denver, CO. They were presented with awards for a custom home theater entry, as well as an integrated home entry.
EDG’ home theater entry Silver Screen Sophistication took home two awards: The Crestron Integration Award and the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyle silver medal for a Large Home Theater. The team at EDG developed solutions to address several client requests and design problems, resulting in a $129,000 custom home theater that accommodates a large number of viewers, incorporates a bar for entertaining, minimizes heat and noise with a remotely installed projector, hides speakers from view, and maintains unobstructed sight lines. The theater electronics, lighting, and HVAC systems were all networked for control by a MiniTouch wireless touch panel, which is a handheld, lightweight, ergonomically designed controller.
Another EDG project won the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyle Gold Medal for Best Integrated Home. The client, owner of a 20,000 sq. ft. home, requested an automation system that would fully integrate the lighting, multi-room audio, HVAC, telephones, dedicated home theater, home computer network, pool and spa controls, garage control, and security cameras, all via touch panels and PC’ throughout the home. Further, the client requested clean walls with no visible switches, thermostats or remotes. The project required EDG’ coordination with interior designers, architects, and builders. The result: an extensive home automation system that leaves no stone unturned-a Lutron lighting control system that addresses home appearance every time of day; 10 energy efficient heating and cooling zones, iPod docking stations throughout the estate; DVR and TiVo for every television; and the ability to remotely adjust the pool and spa temperature so it’ ready when you are.
Electronic Design Group has been receiving recognition for their innovative work for years. This was another great showing for EDG, says President and Founder Bob Gullo. We’ve been doing these installations for years, and have been successful at adapting as our clients and technology get smarter. We are consistently reaching our goal of taking home integration and home theater to a whole new level.
In 2006, EDG brought home eight awards from the CEDIA Expo including a Gold and Silver Medal for Best Home Theater, Levels IV and III; a Silver Medal for Best Hidden Installation; a Bronze for Integrated Home; a Crestron Integration Award; and a Lutron Excellence Award.
Gullo started the company in 1987 and has watched it grow from a strictly audio video installation business to a company with more than 50 specialists who dominate in the fields of audio, video, lighting, telephone, and whole house automation design and installation.
