Rockleigh, NJ

Electronics Design Group, Inc., headquartered in Piscataway, NJ, hosted an official Lunch & Learn on May 24th at the Crestron Experience Center in Rockleigh, NJ. Architects from all over the tri-state area attended this program to learn about Crestron shades and the benefits of using them in their projects. The program included both free lunch and 1 CEU Credit for architects.

At this program, attendees were taught the benefits of using motorized shades. By the end of the Lunch & Learn, attendees were provided with enough information to be able to explain the conducive design of motorized shades including both types of shades and fabric basics. Mary from Z+ Architects explained, “The EDG shade seminar was very informative. Learning firsthand about the flexibility of the system and the array of options will help us guide our clients in choosing the best solution for their project.” The characteristics of the different types of fabric play into the performance of the shade. Another one of the goals of the program was to make architects aware of the best way to conceal shades. After the Lunch and Learn, one architect told us, “I think one of the most positive outcomes of the day was being able to understand exactly what (Electronic Design Group) does, what Crestron does and how we can best communicate the extent of your services to our clients . . . The ability to clearly communicate the extent of what is available helps us tremendously in informing the client about their options at a stage in the project when it makes sense.” EDG aims to teach professionals how they can control power shades to maximize both power efficiency and daylight. Automated shades can have a massive contribution in maximizing daylight and saving energy on electrical lighting.
